OMG I'M FREE!!!

My lawyer just called me and Joe signed the papers!!!! HE SIGNED THE PAPERS!!!! Steven is ALL MINE NOW!!!!

You have no idea how relieved I am!!! The papers will be lodged with the court tomorrow and then we're free.

He's...he's okay. He's happy, of course, because he was pretty scared before so he's relieved that's all over, but no matter how happy he acts, I can tell he's upset too. I think there was a part of him that hoped that his father was fighting this because he really wanted him, but now he finds out that's not true. It breaks my heart, but I'm just relieved that this is the last time Joe can hurt my little boy.

Thanks, Susan. I'm thrilled.

Steven has been a bit sensitive about the rejection from his father, but my boyfriend brought his dog over and that helped. I think having two adults around who love and care for him is helping, instead of it being just me. Mums are all well and good, but sometimes a boy needs a man to talk to, or so Steven informed me this morning ;)
