I'm falling in love!

I had forgotten how incredible that feeling was and I want to savour it for as long as I can.

It's fast. I know it's fast. But when you know, you just know.

OH! You've met someone?

I thought I made this private...

But yes, I have. And he's the most amazing man I've ever met. :)

Well, I've gotten considerably good at my computer skills since deciding to take a desk.

That's fantastic though! I'm happy for you.

Oh. Well done you. Guess I need to keep my thoughts to myself if I want to keep anything private then ;)

Thanks! It's been a really long time since I was involved with anyone and I'm really just enjoying being happy, you know? I can't stop smiling.

I don't know why you'd want to keep this quiet though! This is a good thing. You deserve this.

I guess because it's fast. Because it is. But does that really matter? I guess if it all comes crumbling down, then it might be, but I really don't see that happening. He's going to meet Steven next weekend and we'll see how that goes. If Steven likes him, then I guess I'll have to think about introducing him to you and Dad. How long do you think I can get away with putting that off?

Not very long at this rate. Because you know Steven's going to tell me all about him.

Jesus Christ, is nothing sacred in this family??

Steven telling you is very different to you actually meeting him and that will only happen when I'm ready for it to happen.

Not my fault! I saw Gwen giggling and typing on her laptop, so I peeked over her shoulder to see what she was up to.

Anyways though, I want to meet Mystery Guy. So whenever you're ready, just pick a date.

Maybe I'll invite him to the wedding as my date. Picked a date for that yet?

We're working on it. It's been kind of insane this week at work.

Well, I was thinking the engagement party could be either the 20th or the 27th of this month. Do either of those dates work for you?

The 27th is Rose's birthday, so I say we go with the 20th.

The 20th works for me, so now all we need is Gwen's agreement.

You're lucky he's not threatening to do a background search. Or getting me to call my contacts to do it.

You would really do that?

As I told Dad, he has a past (don't we all?) but there is nothing you can dig up on him that is going to put me off. I know the gist of it anyway.

Yup, we could really do that. ;)

But don't worry, we won't for now.

I wasn't asking if you could. I know you're capable of it.

I was asking if you would because that would be a huge invasion of privacy and would not be appreciated at all.

Just a friendly warning.

No, we wouldn't unless you give us a reason to.

[info]aliceincardiff

And what sort of reason might make you think you need to?

Knowing your dad, that could be anything.

I'm not a teenager anymore. Does Dad realise that or is this him trying to relive moments he missed?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]captainjack

No, Dad is clearly aware of this.

And the only reason I would consider invading your privacy is if I thought you were in danger.
